  Black and White Tegu, Tupinambis merianae
The Argentine Black and White Tegu, Tupinambis merianae, reaches between 4 and 5 feet as adults. They are native to central South America. Some specimens become very tame. They are omnivorous, eating both meat, and vegetables. They an be expected to live more than 15 years in captivity with good care.
